Programs for Uninsured Patients

Filed under: Medicines and Pharmacy — admin July 10, 2008 @ 6:43 am

People who belong to the low-income bracket cannot avail for insurances and worse, cannot even afford medications. At present, there are patient assistance programs that can address concerns such as this. These are programs offered by pharmaceutical companies that help such people to avail for medicine at discounted prices or for free. To be able to qualify for this kind of assistance, you have to belong to a low-income bracket; that is your total household income must be below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level with respect to the state in the US where you will avail the assistance.

The first step to patient assistance programs is determining which pharmaceutical company can provide you the drugs you need and fill up the application form. Your application will then be reviewed and once qualified, you can choose among the programs that can give you the assistance you need and avail for the benefits of the program.

You may not be qualified for the moment for such programs but there are alternatives which could help you with your medication and some providers of PAP’s can also help you find them. Patient assistance programs help uninsured patients get the medical financial assistance they need and deserve.
